The residents of Dar ElHanoun urgently need your help!

The situation in the village has seriously worsened in the last few days.
At this time two demolition orders are pending – against Moustafa and 
Hadra Abu Hillal’s home and against the asphalted area that we paved 
together in an Arab-Jewish work camp in 2001. Starting from last weekend, 
inspectors of the Ministry of the Interior, together with Wadi Ara 
police officers, have performed daily surveillance of the village. 

Apparently, this is done as part of planned upcoming demolitions in Dar ElHanoun.

Your immediate help is needed.

    1 - Please send the message below in wide distribution and call your friends 
        to help us. 
    2 - Send a protest to the Israeli Minister of the Interior, with a 
        clear request for a reply. Send a copy to the nearby Israeli 
        embassy. A suggested letter is given at the end of this message.

Friends in Israel – In reaction to the threat, the residents have opened 
a public protest tent. You are kindly invited to arrive immediately at 
the village, to support its residents in the non-violent protest against 
the imminent demolitions.

URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR AN OLD ARAB-PALESTINIAN VILLAGE IN ISRAEL!

Dear Friends,

Dar ElHanoun is an Arab village within Israel. Although the village is 
more than 80 years old, the Israeli authorities are refusing to recognize 
it, and are starting motions intended to demolish the whole village and 
remove its residents.

Please note: the residents of Dar ElHanoun are all Israeli citizens who 
legally own their land!

At this time two demolition orders are pending – against Moustafa and 
Hadra Abu Hillal’s home and against an asphalt area that was paved in

We are Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel, activists of Taayush - Arab-Jewish 
Partnership. In the past 6 years we have been working closely with the residents 
of Dar ElHanoun for improving the living conditions in the village and struggling 
for their rights. 
The fruits of our efforts are now seriously threatened by the Israeli authorities.

RE: Stop Demolitions in the Village of Dar ElHanoun in Wadi Ara

Dear Mr. Sheetrit,

It has been recently brought to my attention about the village of Dar 
ElHanoun – a village in the State of Israel, in the Wadi Ara area. The 
residents of Dar ElHanoun are Arab Israeli citizens who legally own their 
land.

Despite the fact that the village of Dar ElHanoun dates back to the 1920s, 
the State of Israel refuses to recognize it and it denies its residents 
their basic human and civil rights. 

A house and an asphalt area in the village are now threatened by 
administrative demolition orders.

Officials of your ministry are openly calling for the evacuation of 
Dar ElHanoun and the destruction of its houses.

I see it as your duty to stop this shameful state of affairs. I am calling 
you to immediately recognize the village of Dar ElHanoun and provide 
its residents with all the help that your ministry can provide, in 
equality to Jewish communities in the same region.
